Question 1 of 1
1. Question
TØNSBERG. Tønsberg is a city about an hour and a half southwest of Oslo that prides itself on being referred to as Norway’s oldest settlement. The famous viking ship Oseberg was found in Tønsberg over a hundred years ago and is now housed at the Viking Ship Museum in Oslo. The ship and its contents were very well preserved and are considered one of the most significant Viking archaeological finds ever.
In 2010, a group of enthusiasts and experts came together to reconstruct the Oseberg ship, and two years later it set sail in Tønsberg for the first time. Watch this video of when it set sail for the first time. You can see how excited the community was by how many people and boats are there to take part in the celebration!
